Most 80'/90's synthpop albums were filled with quirky and highly experimental stuff because it still was an adventure. Retrowave and similar retro genres like lo-fi however, build upon expectations and are toned down for background listening.

This could lead to blandness, which is often the case, but Mantus has a rich palette to make repetitive lines interesting. Bringing excitement on an otherwise dull cruise ship holiday. Favorite track: Miami Nights.
